Happy 1 month Nathan!

Nathan turned one month on Tuesday, also the day of his Daddy's birthday! To celebrate, Nathan's parents went out without him. :P It was our first real date night since Nathan was born and my parents were kind enough to watch Nathan for us so we could go our for dinner to celebrate Steve's birthday.

We were brave enough to venture out to Vaughan to eat at Grazie's, an Italian restaurant. (We considered going downtown for a bit but decided that might be too ambitious.) While we did talk about other things, more than half of our conversation was related to Nathan. I guess it is true that even if you're not with your kids, you still talk about them.

On Wednesday, I organized a small surprise party with our small group. Since Steve went back to work this week I've been a bit bored. So naturally, I baked! Every year on Steve's birthday I make his birthday cake and figured, this year should be no exception. I did however hijack his cake a bit for Nathan. :) I also made a key lime pie (Steve's favourite!). Despite being tired from making the cake while trying to take care of Nathan at the same time, the party was a much needed social interaction opportunity for me. Since I am still recovering from the C-section and therefore not allowed to carry the car seat, I cannot go out with Nathan by myself yet. I also didn't realize how bored I would get without social interaction. Must plan my weeks better so that there is some activity for me too. Baking is nice, but I still don't get to talk to anyone.

Nathan went for his 1 month checkup today. I feel like he's already so much bigger than when he was 10 days old but the numbers don't seem that much different. He still fits in his newborn clothes.

Weight: 8lbs11oz (6lbs13oz)
Length: 52.5cm (51.5cm at 10 day)
Head: 38cm (36cm at 10 day)

It's okay though. I secretly wish that Nathan won't grow up too fast so that I can enjoy him in this tiny state longer.

Happy 1 month birthday my little one!
