Today is Nathan's two month birthday. For some reason, he seems to be more grown up today than yesterday. We took him for his two month checkup yesterday and he also got his first immunizations. Poor baby. :( He was really good though and went back to sleep after a feed at the doctor's. Nathan hasn't put on that much weight but gained a lot of height in comparison. His weight is only 19th percentile, compared to height being 50th percentile. So nice of you Nathan to be considerate of Mommy's arms.
We had tickets to see Lang Lang yesterday night and wondered whether it was wise to go out on the night after he gets his first shots but my parents assured us they would be fine. I had been looking forward to that concert since the day we got the tickets! Steve and I enjoyed a nice Thai dinner before the concert. Lang Lang's touch on the piano seem so effortless yet magical. I know many people are fans of Lang Lang and while I really enjoyed the music, find him a bit too dramatic. The TSO also played Beethoven's Symphony #7 last night. Sooo good! Reminds me of why he is still my favorite composer.
Despite enjoying our first date night out that was more than just eating dinner, I kept thinking off and on about how Nathan was doing. I couldn't help it but called home to check to see how he was doing twice. I was actually quite tired by the time we got home. I fed Nathan and put him to bed though that did take a little while. We finally all went to sleep at 12:30pm and I was all ready to have a sleepless night since his shots might bother him.
I woke up at 5:15am wondering why I had slept so long!! Nathan always wake up every 3 hours to eat at night. The last time he did 5 hours at night was when he was 3 weeks old. He finally started waking up at 5:25am. I fed him and he went right back to bed. :) Me on the other hand, I struggled to go back to sleep from 5:45-6:15 at which point I guess I fell asleep shortly afterwards.
Next thing I knew, Nathan was waking up to be fed again. I looked at the clock. 8:45am! 5+3. Can't complain.
Went out with my parents for dim sum today. We then went to No Frills and then Markville. I brought a bottle along with me for Nathan but nope...he decided to sleep the entire time! He didn't eat for 6.5 hours. I wonder if that means tonight will be rough. He did decide to catch up on all his missed meals by eating every 2 hours since we got home. He even wanted to eat at the 1.5 hour mark in the late afternoon. So we did some tummy time to distract him.
Nathan's been rolling over a few times since that first time he rolled over when he was 5 weeks old. Mostly it happens when he's agitated like that time. Two nights ago, he rolled over 3 times in a row!! First time took me by surprise since he rolled when I wasn't paying attention! The second time I was trying to see if he could do it again. The third time happened so fast that I couldn't get my phone fast enough. Of course when I get my phone ready for a fourth roll, he's too tired and refuses to perform. :P
Those 3 rolls were on our bed which I think is a little easier for him since it has more give than on his playmat. So I was wondering if he might be able to use his new found skill on his playmat. A very interesting video was the result. :) I guess the little guy does know what he needs to do to roll afterall. Lean head, kick leg.
So proud of you little guy!!
